Beginner Walkthrough

Complete beginner walkthrough for Noob Mayhem Roblox. Learn controls, Battle Breaker, and first map clears in alpha.

Your First Session

Welcome to Noob Mayhem, Game Thing's roguelike combat game on Roblox. After launching from your Roblox library, you spawn in a lobby hub with map selectors, class info, and other alpha players. Your account starts with Battle Breaker — the free starter class — and access to beginner-friendly content like Crossroads.

Before entering a map, open settings and confirm controls. PC players: WASD movement, Left Shift dash, Left Ctrl shift lock, G emote, left click attack. Mobile and console players should read our platform-specific control pages. Roguelike deaths are normal; each run teaches item icons and enemy tells.

Understanding Roguelike Runs

Each map run randomizes weapon and passive offers between rooms. You choose upgrades at shops or chests, building power until a boss or exit condition ends the run. Death typically resets in-run items but may still grant meta coins based on performance — check results screen numbers and compare with our how-to-get-coins guide.

Do not reroll blindly. Early passives should fix weaknesses: if you nearly died in room two, pick sustain before damage greed. Battle Breaker rewards staying close — dash through attacks, not away from the entire fight.

  • Pick sustain before raw damage on early runs.
  • Read item tags for class synergy hints.
  • Use dash proactively when enemies wind up attacks.
  • Finish Crossroads before judging your skill — first runs are learning.

First Map: Crossroads

Select Crossroads from the map menu. Rooms introduce basic enemy types with telegraphed swings — watch ground markers and audio cues. Clear rooms methodically; rushing triggers multi-enemy aggro. First shop appearance is a milestone: upgrade weapon if attacks feel spongy, otherwise grab best passive offered.

Shift lock helps in narrow paths — toggle Left Ctrl on PC when strafing around corners. Emotes on G are for safe areas only. After first clear or respectable death, review item names you saw — recognition speeds future runs.

After Your First Clears

Spend lobby time checking class mastery progress and coin totals. Save for meaningful unlocks rather than impulse buys — Builderman is popular but not mandatory early. Explore Bloxlands when Crossroads feels comfortable.

Join the community Discord linked from our Trello hub for alpha tips and patch alerts. Avoid script sites — no verified scripts exist and scams risk your account. No promo codes are official yet; progression is gameplay-driven.

Watch guide/how-to-play video walkthrough for visual reinforcement. Set a goal: three consecutive Crossroads clears without panic dashing into walls. Then read map-specific guides for The Castle when ready for hard content.

Setting Realistic Week-One Goals

Day one: learn dash and clear Crossroads once or die trying with lesson learned. Day three: consistent Crossroads clears and first Bloxlands attempt. Week one: unlock economy understanding via guide/how-to-get-coins and consider first class unlock savings target using coin calculator.

Avoid comparing day-one progress to creators with hundreds of alpha hours — roguelike mastery curves are inherently personal. Battle Breaker remains viable endgame; rushing Builderman unlock before fundamentals causes frustration, not power.
